Everything started when the kennel's founder Gunnel Ferm and her husband Hasse fell in love with the Belgians, mainly Tervueren in 1971 when they bought their first tervueren Partners Con Anima. The following year, her sister Partners Dirke was bought and both dogs competed in search and tracking with varying degrees of success.
In 1977, the first litter was born with the kennel prefix Subtils, and from that litter it’s worth to mention Int Ch & SUCH KORAD, TjH Rescue Subtils Livius, who became father of not less than 150 puppies. He also became the first rescue dog among the Belgians in Sweden and he also competed in tracking and searching on an elite level.
Together with kennel Foxfire, two males were imported; Orient v Mezzaselva from Switzerland and Akka v d Moosfluh from Germany. Since Orient had HD he was placed in a family home where he lived a wonderful family life. Akka became father of 15 litters and many of his offspring became prominent working dogs.
In 1995, the kennel's first malinois, SBCH, Korad IPO BHP3 Zagals Zorro, arrived. Zorro was a great working dog who, in addition to his championship in protection work, also competed in elite-class tracking. He also attended SM in protection work on two occasions. He also became a father of a litter of nine puppies and two of his daughters have carried his genes on.
Our first female malinois, Korad Belgross Saba, arrived 1997 and she got three litters.
In 1987 a puppy named SUCH SLCH LP Korad Subtils Fée moved to Helena Palmquist Rösth and from that day a long and close cooperation started. From 2012 Helena also became a partner and co owner in the breeding.
In addition to the co ownership, CIB FI UCH NO UCH SE UCH LP I LP II SE VV-16 RLD N Bijou v H Schothorsterpark also contributed to the breeding with two litters.
Our motto has always been Brain & Beauty, ie focus on good working qualities packed in a good exterior!
At the end of 2018 Gunnel chose to retire completely from the breeding, and Helena now manage the small-scale breeding on her own
